#1. So, what’s your favourite word?

Not a problem.

#2. Excellent. What gets you up in the morning?

My wife. She’s nice like that.

#3. What do you truly, honestly think of social media?

It has its pros and cons but in this day and age, it’s a vital channel for communicating. Personally, I’m on some channels but not others.

#4. Like we always say, better to do one thing 100%. Go hard or go home! Kindles or books?

Books all day long.

#5. We’re hearing you. What do you think is the biggest challenge to your industry right now?

Knowledge or rather, the lack of.  I don’t mean that rudely but as we don’t have so many traditional apprenticeships any more, that level of inherent knowledge is harder to come by. It’s one of the reasons Sure Print spend a lot of time with their clients and their teams, guiding them with the intricacies of file preparation, paper selection and print-buying tips. It really makes a big difference to budgets if you can buy the right product at the right price. We’re happy to do that all day long.

#6. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A professional golfer.

#7. Fore! What led you to your current career?

That one’s down to my family. Dad was in the industry, so was my uncle. I couldn’t really escape, even if I wanted to. Which I don’t!!

#8. Can you use your favourite word in a sentence?

Not a problem. I can use it on any sentence.

#9. Now can you make it rhyme?

What?? What rhymes with ‘not a problem’? No I can’t, Em. *laughs*

#10. Try harder next time please, Timothy. What advice would you give to your younger self?

Stay in an open environment which you enjoy. When you enjoy your work, everything seems right with the world.

#11. What’s the best thing anyone’s ever done for you?

Being loyal. In some respects, loyalty has been lost in today’s culture, but for me I’ve met some amazing people in my lifetime, and have to say that outside of my mates, clients and colleagues have been very loyal which I am very thankful for.

#12. Nice. Tell us, what’s been your ‘career-defining’ moment?

There’s a quite few but ultimately it was not just down to me, I had the pleasure of working with great people and teams that helped us succeed.

#13. You have indeed. If you won a big award of some kind, who would you thank?

My family. Without them, I couldn’t have made this all work.

#14. Can you give us a timesaver of the day?

Keep it mobile – work from anywhere. Don’t be tied to one location, or your desk.

#15. Where do you see your industry in 24 months?

I really see a resurgence on print. People still love it, it gets results. Did you know 65% of people surveyed say they are easily distracted when reading on a phone, compared with 21% when reading in print?

#16. Sorry, what did you say? Lol. Where were you 24 months ago?

At my previous company, in Madrid finalising a deal with a large Spanish publisher.

#17. Viva España! What’s an interesting fact about your company?

We’re a young company – I mean, seriously, who would open in the middle of the recession in 2011? Well, Brad Jones, the founder, did it and the company has gone from strength to strength.

#18. Boom. If you could have a 24-minute Skype chat with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

Jack Nicklaus. I’d give him a few pointers on his swing. Joke.

#19. What’s one word you’d want people to describe you with?

Understanding.
