Today we’re speaking with Joanna Bevan of The Kindness Offensive, who along with her fellow volunteers, is on a mission to have fun, be kind and inspire as many people as possible to do the same.  Performing both small and large-scale Random Acts of Kindness, The Kindness Offensive think the time has come for kindness to rule the world. Gets our vote.

#1. So, what’s your favourite word?

I know some people think ‘Cellar Door’ is the most beautiful thing you can say. I guess it’s because it sounds Spanish and things always sound better in Spanish. A fun word is  ‘tiquismiquis’ meaning fussy.

#2. Fun indeed. What gets you up in the morning?

A strong sense of purpose to make the world a better place. No wait, actually it’s my alarm clock.

#3. What do you truly, honestly think of social media?

I think we have to be careful that what starts out as a key doesn’t become a cage.

#4. Deep. Kindles or books?

I choose the third way, audio books.

#5.  Cheeky. What do you think is the biggest challenge to your industry right now?

The third sector exists to mitigate the shortcomings of the state and our prevailing ideology so therefore the biggest challenge is meeting the ever-increasing shortfalls.

#6.  What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A holiday TV programme researcher.

#7. Wish you were still there? What led you to your current career?

Wanting to do something constructive and being able to work for myself helping others.

#8. Can you use your favourite word in a sentence?

Eres un tiquismiquis!

#9. Now can you make it rhyme?

No, I don’t think it rhymes with anything.

#10. What advice would you give to your younger self?

Travel, travel and more travel.

#11. What’s the best thing anyone’s ever done for you?

Ask me to take part in 24 fingers’ questions.

#12. Really? *hugs*. Tell us, what’s been your ‘career-defining’ moment?

Not sure I have a career but I have certainly had quite a few moments, being on the Happy List of course was very cool!

#13. So cool. If you won a big award of some kind, who would you thank?

Depends on the award.

#14. Can you give us a timesaver of the day?

Skipping this question.

#15. Where do you see your industry in 24 months?

It’s made up of people doing the best they can with the resources they have available so it will be brimming with ingenuity if not money.

#16. Where were you 24 months ago?

I had just thought about launching Speak Street, a pop-up language café.

#17. What’s an interesting fact about your company?

We are the world’s largest creator of Random Acts of Kindness.

#18. BOOOOM to that. If you could have a 24-minute Skype chat with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

Anyone from the future!

#19. What’s one word you’d want people to describe you with?

I asked around the office and they said joyful.

#20. Would you mind taking a selfie for us?

Don’t have a selfie but check this out.

#21. What’s your favourite Twitter handle or social media campaign?
